Astrology Forecast for April 5, 2017
We are living in complex times. If you are an astrologer, then you know this because of the cascade of Retrograde Stations this month. People, places, things, and ideas that need reconsideration, or maybe a first consideration, will demand your time.
Saturn makes a retrograde station today in Western Hemisphere time zones but April 6th in others (UK / EU). A number of others have written about this, including Journey by the Sea / AndyCandyPants, Eyes of Heaven / Elizabeth Bassett, and others. The coverage is good enough that we do not need to add to it, and Saturn is so slow and methodical in how it achieves results that you have been feeling it for weeks already anyway. Authority figures come into question, financials take a tumble, and older people such as myself feel a bit of “rheumatism” in the bones and joints.
Astro-Butterfly points our that Mars trines Saturn today. While trines tend to be benevolent, the planets involved are a mess. Traditionally, the classical astrologers called Mars the “lesser malefic” and Saturn the “greater malefic.” But Mars is in Taurus, and that is not the best place for it. A mutual reception with Venus (in Aries) was helping each (Mars and Venus) but retrograde Venus has moved into Pisces.
Saturn (contraction) is in Sagittarius (expansion), also not the best place for it. Stations are arguably worse than actually retrogrades (from our earth-bound point of the view, the planet is “standing still” and, arguably, unable to function because it, metaphorically, cannot “make up its mind”). Saturn is Station Retrograde, and Mars will soon do the same.
Frankly, I am not sure how to interpret this. Is this “bad” for Mars and Saturn? Yes! Is it “bad” for “us”? Not sure. Mars and Saturn are malefics. Is their affect amplified (made worst) or neutralized by the retrogrades and sign placements? Not sure. It seems complex and messy. My guess is that this is particularly “bad” for “martians” (athletes, soldiers, police, intelligence agencies) but maybe it just means they need to take a hard look at whatever they have been neglecting. Ditto for th Saturnines (bankers, bone doctors, and more than a few “authority figures”).
so, what else? (As if that is not enough?) Moon is in Leo, and Sun in Aries. Together, they form a Grand Fire Trine, good for those who are leaders (but not necessarily “authority figures”; sounds paradoxical!).
Moon in Leo forms a (loose) Thor’s Hammer (Fist of God) as Moon forms (1) a sesquiquadrate with Chiron (in Pisces), another sesquiquadrate with Saturn (in Sagittarius), and another sesquiquadrates with Venus (in Pisces). We think that this combination makes the day rather dangerous. Please do be careful. Watch for dangerous people, places, and things, and do not be one yourself.
Outers are difficult to interpret, but besides Mars Trine Pluto, one stands out: Vesta (Cancer, Tradition) square Eris (Aries, Discord). That is an important aspect, and 5D Astrology dicusses it at length. In summary, perfection of that aspect represents an important turning point in a outer planet Grand Cross, a Cardinal Grand Cross.
In all, it looks like a bit of a tough day, the first of several. Hang in there.
