May 31, 2017 (Julian 151) Moon moves into Virgo; Jupiter Trine Ceres

May 31, 2017 (Julian 151) Moon moves into Virgo; Jupiter Trine Ceres

Moon turns void in Leo at 6:12 AM CDT and moves into Virgo at 11:15 AM CDT.  The lunar aspects prior to the void are mostly trines and superb for accomplishment but only really available to people in the EU / UK unless you are an early riser or working overnight.

After the Moon becomes void, the aspects are sour: (1) semi-square to Jupiter and (2) quincunx to Chiron.  Best to avoid anything but the routine and especially avoid the controversial.  Moon sesquiquadrate Pluto at 6:30 PM CDT is irritating to many but can produce some productivity in “earth” based matters, maybe healthcare (via Virgo) or finances (via Pluto in Capricorn).  This is a good evening to work on the budget and pay bills.

Outers are also quite busy.  Jupiter perfects a trine to Ceres at 3 PM CDT.  This indicates help or hope regarding matters of prosperity or diet.  But perfection of an quincunx of Ceres to Hygeia (and a Jupiter / Hygeia square earlier this week) may interfere with attempts to make progress in these same areas.  This is a “touch and go” situation that we find difficult to interpret.  We think it means that progress can be made, but persistence through difficulties and annoyances will be necessary.

Summary: this is a difficult day in which progress can be made in bookkeeping and financial matters in the afternoon and evening, but stick to routine activities in the morning if you live in the Western Hemisphere.  UK / EU should push through to get things done in the morning, take the afternoon off, and maybe have a second work session in the evening, focusing on finance and bookkeeping and “practical” matters.

May 9, 2017 (Julian 129) Moon in Scorpio Waxing

May 9, 2017 (Julian 129) Moon in Scorpio Waxing

Lunar aspects are relatively few today.  Shortly before 1 PM CDT, Moon perfects a quincunx with Venus.  Although this aspect is unpleasant, it passes relatively quickly.  About 35 minutes later, Moon perfects a trine with Pluto.  This could be useful for research or investigations.  No other routine lunar aspects occur today.  (We are not looking at higher order lunar aspects at this time.)

Outers are busier, and they tend to produce an undercurrent of annoyance.  Mars biquintiles Juno, the kind of aspect that favors women contemplating divorce along with their lawyers.  (This gives them a brainstorm.)  Other women and the men they hire or manipulate into attacking others are also favored.  Pallas (the warrior goddess) squares Hygeia (health and healthcare), possibly bringing either ideas or annoyance (or both) to those working in the healthcare field.  Finally, Ceres forms a sesquiquadrate with Pluto, raising issues with those on diets or those who are struggling with “prosperity issues.”

This is a day with annoyances, and you will certainly feel an urge to “get things done.”

May 7, 2017 (Julian 127) Libra Moon + Critical Election in France

May 7, 2017 (Julian 127) Libra Moon + Critical Election in France

Lunar aspects are few with the Libra Moon today.  About 11 AM CDT Moon (Libra) trines Mars (Gemini).  This is a good time to get things done, but most people will tend to chat.  About 4 PM CDT Moon forms a quincunx with Neptune (Pisces) and miscommunications and glitches grab us; we are still in the “shadow” period after Mercury Retrograde ends (this will be with us until May 20th).  Near 6 PM Moon joins Jupiter (Retrograde in Libra).  Expect an important announcement from France about this time.

Outers are complex, but we see Juno (trust, women) sesquiquadrate Ceres (food; prosperity).  Big issues between these two, and you can bet this will show in the election in France.  Ceres also forms a sesquiquadrate with Astraea (law and legal systems), and this will also been in play.  All of this comes just a few days before the Full Moon (Moon in Scorpio) followed by Mars (Gemini) square Neptune (Pisces).  Expect bullshit and dandelions this week.

April 28, 2017 (Julian 118) Venus enters Aries; Mercury (R) joins Uranus (Aries)

April 28, 2017 (Julian 118) Venus enters Aries; Mercury (R) joins Uranus (Aries)

The headline for today is that (1) Venus enters Aries (covering old ground from prior to the recent Venus Retrograde); and (2) Mercury (R) joins Uranus (something that will happen again with Mercury Direct on May 9th during the “shadow period” that lasts until May 20th.  This is a superb time for writers (and similar creatives) to develop ideas along with likely an important day for journalists and others who depend on writing and communication (or transportation) for their art, craft, or livelihood.

Some of you will be following up from yesterday’s window of opportunity for creatives.  Even if you cannot finish the project now, you can return to it May 9th.

Moon is in Gemini (Mercury ruled) all day.  Moon (Gemini) semi-squares Mercury / Uranus (Aries) about 2 PM CDT, and some of you will feel a sense of urgency to make progress or completed some project.  Follow your intuitions on this, but we especially recommend that you make as much progress today as you possibly can.  This is an important day to “push” to get things done.  The persistence will pay off, even if you see certain setbacks.

Outers are EXTREMELY busy today but enigmatic and difficult to interpret.  We know something is important about this particular day, but we simply are unable to interpret it for you.  That means it is up to you to determine why today is so important.  With Neptune (Pisces) sesquiquadrate Vesta (Cancer), we think this likely involves photographs and videos and the formation of memories of family members.  As Joni Mitchell once sang, “you never know what you’ve got until it is gone.”  Take pictures.  Make videos.  Cherish those close to you.

Astrology Forecast for April 8, 2017 (Julian 098)

Hollywood is famous for writing movies with happy endings on the premise that they sell better.  While articles that satirize the process (like this one) might be funny, no one really likes them.

This fact really sucks when you are an astrologer writing a forecast and have a weekend like this one with the Sun/Uranus-Jupiter-Pluto T-Square (add Vesta: Grand Cross) causing “things” to go boom (along with President Trump, Putin, and sundry Middle Eastern Players).  Retrograde Venus (Pisces) squares Retrograde Saturn and it all looks rather bleak.  We wrote about it yesterday, and Clarissa (Viva Combusta) has detailed the nuances in an excellent piece, quite popular on our main blog (Grand Trines).  In a short phrase: it ain’t over yet.

What possible “happy ending” can you write with a mess like that?

Astro-Butterfly has a nice piece about this month, and we recommend it if you like to at least attempt to plan ahead.

Lunar aspects are sundry, and a mix like that is always tricky to interpret.  But we think the Moon Sesquiquadrate Mercury near Noon CDT is the most important.  To use a horrific old Southern saying (arguably “Southern Gothic“), we will all be “running around like a chicken with its head cut off.”

Shakespeare elegantly titled a play: “Much Ado about Nothing.”  (Let us be clear: the Sarin gas in Syria and missles that followed are a big thing; but chances are good that your frantic chase today is NOT despite how bad it may currently look.)

Keep in mind that you do have at least SOME choice in this matter!  (So, how to proceed?)

Moon in Virgo is great for scrubbing and cleaning, so please do use the energy that way instead of a frantic chase after something you simple cannot achieve at this time, if ever.  Windows to “get it done,” whatever “it” is, will come again next week or sometime in May after Mercury moves direct.  Postpone “it” until then and focus on what you can actually achieve to get the most out of this day.  This day CAN productive and useful (but probably NOT the best of “party days” for most people).

Outers are very nearly silent EXCEPT for the curious aspect of a perfection of Saturn BiQuintile Ceres.  This indicates a very odd kind of creativity that is ENTIRELY focused on practical matters such as reorganizing your food pantry or something similar.  Curiously, such a reorganization of basic elements of prosperity such as our pantry or our kitchen on this date can produce a MAJOR cascade of helpful events.  Ditto for review of the home budget.

The Full Moon cometh on April 10th, only two days away.  Best to be a seller now and a buyer then.  And we almost never recommend scrubbing and cleaning during a waxing moon, but today is a noteworthy exception.

And, stay away from Choctaw Ridge.
