June 22, 2017 (Julian 173) Dark of the Moon
Beyond our other commentary, consider this: the Moon is in Gemini (ruled by Mercury) and Mercury is in Cancer (ruled by the Moon). This kind of exchange is called a “mutual reception,” and, unless it contains malefics (particularly Mars or Saturn or both), this is a powerful and beneficial situation that permits both planets to speak for each other or “trade places.” That means, for the moment, both the Moon and Mercury are very powerful.
With a Dark of the Moon period, as we have now, the “veil is thin” as others have said, and we can tap into our intuitive side or, depending on your beliefs, connect with those who have gone before us and sometimes other entities. This is the kind of period where people can “daydream” and let the mind spin free and then write down what comes to them and produce a powerful result. Think of it as a portal that opens today, especially after dark, but does not last long and ones like this do not occur often.
With a Moon this old, eliminating unwanted people, places, and things becomes possible. Just make sure that is what you really want. Chances are good that once you have eliminated “it” or “them,” you will not get a do-over. Old traditionalists would also say this is a good time to wean children (or anyone else) or eliminate bad habits (which works best if you have something to replace it, like chewing Nicorette gum instead of smoking, and then later eliminating the gum habit when the time comes).
Particularly at this time, “cleaning house” will help you find lost objects (literal cleaning) or uncover hidden resources (metaphorical cleaning).
We have written about the outers before, and most important is the semi-square that Mars makes to the North Node (karma). This can, and likely will, manifest as violence somewhere (given our current conditions, which are starting to look like an undeclared war), but if you avoid dangerous people, places, and things, you might can harness “it” to help you finish some messy job that you detest but need done to make life better. We are talking about the bitter medicine that cures he condition.
Mars also makes a biseptile to Chiron, and this is about as “karmic” as one can imagine. This is about karma in the most fundamental way, and it can give you an important glimpse of the future, especially since we are in DOTM. Ceres quadrinovile Astraea amplifies this, maybe giving us some kind of glimpse into how to obtain justice for an old wrong.
You can count on some bit of weirdness, a bit like Halloween in June. (We have Christmas in July, so why not?)
