May 31, 2017 (Julian 151) Moon moves into Virgo; Jupiter Trine Ceres

May 31, 2017 (Julian 151) Moon moves into Virgo; Jupiter Trine Ceres

Moon turns void in Leo at 6:12 AM CDT and moves into Virgo at 11:15 AM CDT.  The lunar aspects prior to the void are mostly trines and superb for accomplishment but only really available to people in the EU / UK unless you are an early riser or working overnight.

After the Moon becomes void, the aspects are sour: (1) semi-square to Jupiter and (2) quincunx to Chiron.  Best to avoid anything but the routine and especially avoid the controversial.  Moon sesquiquadrate Pluto at 6:30 PM CDT is irritating to many but can produce some productivity in “earth” based matters, maybe healthcare (via Virgo) or finances (via Pluto in Capricorn).  This is a good evening to work on the budget and pay bills.

Outers are also quite busy.  Jupiter perfects a trine to Ceres at 3 PM CDT.  This indicates help or hope regarding matters of prosperity or diet.  But perfection of an quincunx of Ceres to Hygeia (and a Jupiter / Hygeia square earlier this week) may interfere with attempts to make progress in these same areas.  This is a “touch and go” situation that we find difficult to interpret.  We think it means that progress can be made, but persistence through difficulties and annoyances will be necessary.

Summary: this is a difficult day in which progress can be made in bookkeeping and financial matters in the afternoon and evening, but stick to routine activities in the morning if you live in the Western Hemisphere.  UK / EU should push through to get things done in the morning, take the afternoon off, and maybe have a second work session in the evening, focusing on finance and bookkeeping and “practical” matters.

May 30, 2017 (Julian 150) A Decision Awaits You

May 30, 2017 (Julian 150) A Decision Awaits You

Outers are very busy today, but we will come back to that.  Moon is in Leo and effectively completes a Grand Fire Trine with Uranus / Venus in Aries and Saturn in Sagittarius.  This tends to be good for fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) and usually good for air signs (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini).  Water and Earth can benefit, also, but not as much.

Moon in Leo forms a loose Yod with Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn.  This is a monthly recurring event for the next few years.  Each month, when the Moon is in Leo, you face some kind of important decision.  Today is no exception.  For most people this is not life and death, but it can be important.  Choose wisely.

Outers continue to be a bit disturbing.  In particular, Mars forms three aspects today, a relatively benign sextile to Uranus, a quadrinovile to Astraea (law and lawyers), and an aspect we will call a “hexaundecile” to Hygeia.  This last aspect is particularly difficult to interpret.  Just know that some of you will encounter something unusual or different regarding the healthcare system today.

Mars opposite Saturn, which perfected on May 29th, continues to dominate affairs all week long.  Let us be clear: this is difficult.  Gemini and Sagittarius will be, at least, stirred to action.  Chances are good, though, that the changes will not be lasting ones.  This has a bit of an odd feel similar to a Moon v/c.

The next big Outer Planet shift will be Jupiter moving direct on June 9th.  As Jupiter slows, some of us will have a chance to “jump ship.”  That means leaving college, starting college, closing out a lawsuit, starting a lawsuit, traveling abroad or coming home if you are already traveling abroad.  You are not required to do this, but you will have the opportunity.

May 2, 2017 (Julian 122) Moon forms Thor’s Hammer with Chiron, Saturn

May 2, 2017 (Julian 122) Moon forms Thor’s Hammer with Chiron, Saturn

Technically, Saturn square Chiron perfected Sunday, though some events related to that manifested Monday (yesterday).  But with Sun forming a sesquiquadrate to Saturn today followed by a semisquare to Chiron, today might be the “big day.”

Here in Dallas, a police office shot, and killed, a fifteen year old passenger in a car that was pulling away from the police.  A stabbing rampage in Austin (Monday) left one student dead and three wounded.  A shooter shot a paramedic before killing himself and another.  The paramedic will likely live, but only due to a fast response.  A wrong way driver in Ohio had his car explode in a huge fireball caught on video.  We think Tuesday / Wednesday (Mercury direct station) / Thursday through the weekend (the days immediately after the direct station) could be worse.  But Tuesday really has our attention.

Late Tuesday the Moon forms sesquiquadrates with both Chiron and Saturn, leading to a pattern we call a Thor’s Hammer (aka “God’s Fist”).  People with a planet in mid-Leo, for example birthdays in the first two weeks of August, will likely feel this.

And people with late mutable birthdays (last week of Gemini / Virgo / Sagittarius / Pisces) will feel it along with late fire signs (the rest of Leo, and the last week of Aries) and late water signs (end of Cancer and end of Scorpio).  Actually, I think that covers enough of the zodiac that most of the rest of us will know or be related to someone that is affected.  That is, I think everyone will be affected.

As a bit of a footnote, today is Tiu’s Day (Tuesday).  Tiu was the Norse god of war, exactly equivalent to Mars, (aka the “lesser malefic”).

Do not take chances today.  Be careful today.

May 1, 2017 (Julian 121) Mars Quadrinovile Saturn + Long Lunar Void

May 1, 2017 (Julian 121) Mars Quadrinovile Saturn + Long Lunar Void

Today contains a possible glimpse into the future, but since Mars (the lesser malefic) and Saturn (the greater malefic) are involved, the news may not be pleasant and it may be overtly “bad.”  Do pay attention because I think (for some of you) your safety might be involved.

Today is relatively simple and straightforward.  At 3:21 PM CDT the Moon in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries and turns void of course and remains void until 11:11 PM CDT when the Moon enters Leo where it will be for the next two days.  Jim Shawvan in the Daily Planetary Guide describes this period of time as an “Opportunity Period.”

We think it COULD be an “Opportunity Period,” but the Saturn square Chiron aspect is of concern to some people.  (Refer to yesterday’s post).  AND, we are only two days away from the Mercury Direct Station.  If you do decide to use the void period for “opportunities,” we recommend a very conservative position in your decision making.

Astrology Forecast for April 6, 2017 (Julian 096)

The big news for today is Saturn Retrograde Station for those in time zones EDT and points east and yesterday for CDT and points west.  We wrote about it yesterday and still think that forecast has application for today.

What has changed?  The sesquiquadrates are gone (eliminating the “loose” Thor’s Hammer) and are replaced by a similar pair of quincunx (that create a “loose” Yod).  This means you face a decision today, probably an important one, and you need to decide before 7 PM CDT or the Universe (or other people) will decide for you.  (You may not like those results.) Leo, Capricorn and Pisces are most strongly affected by this pattern, but all will feel it to some greater or lesser degree.  As with all Yods, you will pine for the path not taken without realizing that it had its own hidden and unforeseeable pitfalls just as did the one you chose.

The Leo Moon becomes v/c a bit past 7 PM CDT and remains void until some time past 11 PM CDT when Moon enters Virgo.  Take time off to regroup and re-evaluate.

Outers are almost entirely silent.  Astraea is Tri-Undecile (30 degrees) Eris, telling of some discord involving law and the legal community.  For most, this does not affect them.  (Try not to be the exception!)  If you need to challenge an authority figure, then today might be the day to do it.  Otherwise, stick to routine and fully commit to whatever decisions you make today.

Astrology Forecast for April 5, 2017 (Julian 095)

Astrology Forecast for April 5, 2017

We are living in complex times.  If you are an astrologer, then you know this because of the cascade of Retrograde Stations this month.  People, places, things, and ideas that need reconsideration, or maybe a first consideration, will demand your time.

Saturn makes a retrograde station today in Western Hemisphere time zones but April 6th in others (UK / EU).  A number of others have written about this, including Journey by the Sea / AndyCandyPants,  Eyes of Heaven / Elizabeth Bassett, and others.  The coverage is good enough that we do not need to add to it, and Saturn is so slow and methodical in how it achieves results that you have been feeling it for weeks already anyway.  Authority figures come into question, financials take a tumble, and older people such as myself feel a bit of “rheumatism” in the bones and joints.

Astro-Butterfly points our that Mars trines Saturn today.  While trines tend to be benevolent, the planets involved are a mess.  Traditionally, the classical astrologers called Mars the “lesser malefic” and Saturn the “greater malefic.”  But Mars is in Taurus, and that is not the best place for it.  A mutual reception with Venus (in Aries) was helping each (Mars and Venus) but retrograde Venus has moved into Pisces.

Saturn (contraction) is in Sagittarius (expansion), also not the best place for it.  Stations are arguably worse than actually retrogrades (from our earth-bound point of the view, the planet is “standing still” and, arguably, unable to function because it, metaphorically, cannot “make up its mind”).  Saturn is Station Retrograde, and Mars will soon do the same.

Frankly, I am not sure how to interpret this.  Is this “bad” for Mars and Saturn?  Yes!  Is it “bad” for “us”?  Not sure.  Mars and Saturn are malefics.  Is their affect amplified (made worst) or neutralized by the retrogrades and sign placements?  Not sure.  It seems complex and messy.  My guess is that this is particularly “bad” for “martians” (athletes, soldiers, police, intelligence agencies) but maybe it just means they need to take a hard look at whatever they have been neglecting.  Ditto for th Saturnines (bankers, bone doctors, and more than a few “authority figures”).

so, what else?  (As if that is not enough?)   Moon is in Leo, and Sun in Aries.  Together, they form a Grand Fire Trine, good for those who are leaders (but not necessarily “authority figures”; sounds paradoxical!).

Moon in Leo forms a (loose) Thor’s Hammer (Fist of God) as Moon forms (1) a sesquiquadrate with Chiron (in Pisces), another sesquiquadrate with Saturn (in Sagittarius), and another sesquiquadrates with Venus (in Pisces).  We think that this combination makes the day rather dangerous.  Please do be careful.  Watch for dangerous people, places, and things, and do not be one yourself.

Outers are difficult to interpret, but besides Mars Trine Pluto, one stands out: Vesta (Cancer, Tradition) square Eris (Aries, Discord).  That is an important aspect, and 5D Astrology dicusses it at length.  In summary, perfection of that aspect represents an important turning point in a outer planet Grand Cross, a Cardinal Grand Cross.

In all, it looks like a bit of a tough day, the first of several.  Hang in there.
